The trailer of Dhai Chaal, a Pakistani film based on the Indian RAW agent Kulbhushan Jadhav, is out and it appears promising by the looks of it. Featuring renowned actor and director Shamoon Abbasi, Ayesha Omar and Humayoun Ashraf in prominent roles, the films revolves around the struggles faced by the people of Balochistan in their everyday lives in order to keep peace and harmony in the region.
Shamoon Abbasi will not be essaying the role of a hero this time; he will be seen as the RAW agent who was sent to Balochistan to sabotage the CPEC project. He was arrested by the Pakistani authorities in 2016, then convicted and sentenced to death in 2017 by a military tribunal for spying. Ayesha Omar, plays a journalist Kanwal, while Humayun Ashraf appears to be an investigative officer.

The narrative of the film claims that India is behind all the terrorist attacks in their country, and now it is instigating a fire in Pakistan as well. There are dialogues in the film that clearly shows the lens through which the events will be depicted. For instance: “Inko andar se itna khokla kar do key Kashmir ka khayal in key dilon mein na aye [make them so barren/hollow from the inside that they forget wondering about Kashmir at all]” and “Yeh Bollywood nahi hai jahan climax ma tum log her jang jeet jatay ho [This isn’t a Bollywood film where Indians end up winning every battle in the climax].”
