Azaan Sami Khan has collaborated with Maya Ali for his song Ik Lamha which he calls a love letter to Karachi. The beautiful music video features Karachi in all its liveliness back in the 1960s era.
Directed by Muhammad Ehteshamuddin, Ik Lamha starring Maya Ali is the third single from Azaan’s debut album Main Tera. It is described as an evocative tale of romance dedicated to the ones who got away. The voiceover by the actress in the beginning reveals it to be their last meeting.

Following the release, Azaan penned a note about his inspiration behind the song.
“Over the past few years I’ve tried to make music that caters to different stories,” he began.
“There’s music that is trying to help narrate stories of characters and their journey and then there’s music I’ve put out that is very personal as it narrates the journey that I am on.”
Speaking of Ik Lamha, the singer said that it stems from an array of his thoughts growing up.
“The world of Ik Lamha stems from an array of my thoughts growing up. I belong to and have been privy to a generation where love and heartbreak is dealt with very differently, everything is so connected that in any given moment we can be in the presence of that person, if not in real life we can still do so in many other forms.”
Azaan shared how he saw his grandparents’ relationship. “Looking at pictures of my grandparents when they first met always reminds me of a story my Nani once told me,” he wrote.
“Her first encounter with my Nana was not similar to his. She was left not being that interested but on the other hand he had fallen madly in love with her the minute he laid eyes on her. How he sat up all night constantly replaying that moment. What the sky would have looked like in that moment? What was the world like in that moment? How slowly time must have passed till the next time he saw her?”
“The beauty of such complete silence and anticipation of a different era for me was and is Ik Lamha,” he concluded.

The lyrics of the song have been penned by award-winning lyricist, AM Turaz, who has previously worked with Azaan for the Qawwali part of his superhit song Ghalat Fehmi
