Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming grand production Padmavati has been the talk of the town since it was announced. Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor, the trailer for the film is yet to be released but we have seen the elaborate looks the actors will be supporting.
Known for his roles in Bajirao Mastani and Ram-Leela, the eccentric Ranveer Singh, who will be playing the antagonist as Alauddin Khilji, has once again taken up method acting to portray his character. According to multiple Indian publications, after channeling his character Ranveer started responding like his onscreen negative role even in real life. So much so, that according to reports the actor has been advised to seek psychiatric help to battle the dark mindset he developed in the process.

Reports also reveal that Deepika Padukone too faced similar difficulties portraying her character of Rani Padmini.  The actress is said to have sought medical assistance during the film’s shoot as she was extremely disturbed by the film’s climax, the self-immolation scene (Jauhar). This suicide scene reminded Deepika of her battle with depression.
Now if these reports are true or merely a marketing stunt, is the real question. No doubt the cast and Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself are enough to bring out a large audience, but this might just take things to the next level.
