Karachi is the hub for arts and films so it is vital that year-round media and art festivals are organized to give everyone their due share of recognition. Another such promising festival has kickstarted today at SZABIST university, Karachi which has created quite a buzz. ZAB Media Festival (ZMF) is an annual event which allows art lovers and budding filmmakers to meet some of the most promising people from Pakistani media.
Hosted by the Faculty of Media Sciences, the festival’s theme this year is ‘Discovering Pakistan’ which aims to explore various mediums through which entertainment and infotainment are disseminated. Budding filmmakers, photographers and designers from across Pakistan are encouraged to send in their submissions to not only get a monetary prize by the end of the festival, but also get the exposure they deserve.
Whether you want to learn more about advertising, design, film or journalism from experts, this 5-day event covers it all. From a session on modern-day advertisement techniques to exploring digital media, women in journalism and in mainstream cinema, ZMF has an interesting line-up.
