Late Pakistani comedian, Umer Sharif’s body is being flown to Karachi after his funeral prayers in Germany. According to reports, his funeral prayer was offered at the Turkish Mosque in Nuremberg.

Speaking to the media, his son, Jawad Umer, said that his father’s funeral prayers will be held in Karachi at 3pm on Wednesday. Maulana Bashir Farooqui will lead the prayers, he said.

His wife Zarrin Ghazal will travel to Karachi along with the body. He had left Pakistan in an air ambulance for treatment in the US on September, 28th. However, his condition got critical on the way.

The veteran entertainer was admitted to a hospital during a stopover in Germany where he passed away. Pakistan’s ambassador to Germany, Dr Mohammad Faisal, also confirmed the news.

“With deep sorrow it is announced that Mr Umer Sharif has passed away in Germany,” he tweeted. “Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Our CG is present at the hospital to assist the family in every way.”

Umer Sharif passed away on October 2nd, three days after his stay in Germany.
