Yasir Nawaz’s upcoming murder-mystery and thriller, Chakkar is one of the five big Pakistani films to release this Eid ul Fitr. Yasir has established from the teaser that the film will be different from the regular rom-coms he has produced and directed so far. And now that the trailer is out, there is much more to expect.
Starring Ahsan Khan and Neelum Muneer in key roles, Chakkar explores a big mystery. Neelum is playing double roles in the film; one of her characters, Mehreen, is Kabir’s wife, while she also has an her identical sister Zara Khan, who is a superstar. Zara is infamous for being a diva who is difficult to work with and Kabir (Ahsan) is not fond of his sister-in-law as well. But one fateful day, Zara requests her sister to switch places with her and someone murders her.
This leads to the entry of Inspector Shahzad (Yasir Nawaz) who is investigating the murder, and it appears that Kabir is one of the prime suspects. Chakkar is a whodunit which has dance numbers, action sequences, romantic ballads at picturesque locations, a lot of punches and slaps, suspense and drama, making it a perfect popcorn entertainer for Eid.
Produced by Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz, the film is also directed by Yasir. The film stars Javed Sheikh, Ahmed Hasan, Mehmood Aslam and Naveed Raza amongst others. Shoaib Malik has also made a cameo in it.
It is slated to release on Eid ul Fitr.
