Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy Films has released its fourth and final installment of the animated series, Shattering the Silence, which focuses on initiating meaningful discourse around issues of child abuse.
The last three parts talked about child trafficking for domestic work, forced marriages and child marriages. The final part titled ‘Child Safety — Ways to Protect Yourself’ features Dr. Maryam Suheyl along with a focused group of children. The doctor in engaged in a conversation with the kids about the ways in which young girls and boys can protect themselves.

Through the course of the discussion, we see them talking about why it is important for children to look both ways before crossing the road, what is the difference between good and bad touch, how to maintain your personal space and how to navigate difficult situations with strangers. This initiative by SOC Films is a must-watch for parents and children alike.
An initiative of SOC Films, Shattering the Silence is a four-part animated series that aims to engage audiences, especially children, with real-life stories of child abuse, and to educate them with the relevant laws and resources that exist, and the steps that can be taken if they, or anyone they know, is forced into marriage, labor, trafficking, or physical abuse.
