Each year the Oscars’ ‘In Memoriam’ section acts as a tribute to the film world’s great and good who have sadly passed away. This year, along with Roger Moore and Jonathan Demma, the list included Bollywood icons Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor.
While Sridevi passed away last week, Shashi Kapoor, who was an active figure in international cinema working in films such as The Guru and Bombay Talkie, passed away in December last year.
King of comedy Jerry Lewis, French star Jeanne Moreau, Martin Landau, popular supporting actor Harry Dean Stanton, and director Jonathan Demme were also among other artists who were remembered for their contribution to cinema. Last year it was actor Om Puri was honoured at the prestigious ceremony.
