Late Bollywood actress Sridevi was awarded the Best Actor (Female) Award posthumously for her performance in Mom on Friday.
Announcing the results of the 65th National Film Awards, Bollywood’s ‘first female superstar’, Sridevi was honoured for playing the role of a mother of a rape victim (played by Sajal Aly), who takes revenge from her daughter’s rapists.
Sridevi was lauded for her performance in the film directed by Ravi Udyawar.
The actress passed away this year on February 24, 2018, in Dubai due to accidental drowning while she was attending her husband Boney Kapoor’s nephew’s wedding.

Apart from the actress, Vinod Khanna was also awarded the Dada Saheb Phalke Award posthumously.
The National Film Awards is one of the most prominent film award ceremonies in India and have been administered along with the International Film Festival of India and the Indian Panorama, by the Indian Government’s Directorate of Film Festivals since 1973.
