Owing to the escalating tension between India and Pakistan, patriotism on both ends is at an all-time high. While India continues to propagate a warmongering narrative, Pakistan has maintained its stance of peace, clarifying that war is never the answer. Amidst the political upheaval, a patriotic-drama film SherDil is all set to release in cinemas across the country and will likely attract the audience in huge numbers.

Directed by Azfar Jafri and written & produced by Nooman Khan, the film stars Mikaal Zulfiqar, Armeena Rana Khan, Hassan Niazi and Sabeeka Imam in lead roles. Re-creating the 1965 Indo-Pak war, Mikaal is seen as a young man who joins the Pakistan Air Force [PAF] and finds his passion for serving the country. Dealing with the emotions of love, patriotism and passion this film aims to show the life of a man who joins the forces to protect his country, putting everything else in his life on a standstill.
Armeena will be playing Mikaal’s love interest while Hassan will be seen as an Indian Air Force pilot. Releasing ahead of Pakistan Day on March 22, the film comes at a time when the nationalistic sentiment is soaring up. And although it is a dramatic depiction of the war and resembles the narrative of last year’s blockbuster film Parwaaz Hai Junoon, it is likely to do decent business on the box-office owing to its relevance and timing of the release.
