The trailer launch of Parchi on Saturday had many surprises in store for the audience. The cast showed up on a colourful desi truck, with an entourage of fire breathers leading the way on foot, and the cast dancing to Billo Hai, as they approached Nueplex. After the release of Parchi’s upbeat trailer, the producers also released the film’s dance number, Billo Hai, choreographed by Baaghi actor Osman Khalid Butt.
This was Osman’s first time choreographing a dance for a movie, though we can safely assume the actor has probably choreographed many mehndi dances in the past!
“I remember as a kid, we had a huge culture of watching great Indian films in our family and I used to be dancing along to the songs at the back, from the magnum opuses to the very kichi kind of ‘Phenk Hawa Mein Ek Chumma Main Catch Kar Lun’ type songs, so I’m very, very happy that that weirdness got realised in such a beautiful way. This was like Hareem said, a passion project and you know, I’m so happy that you gave me the opportunity to work on a damakhedaar song,” explained Osman.
When asked who the best dancer was, the actor promptly responded, “I am.”
Directed by Azfar Jafri and produced by Imran Raza Kazmi, Hareem Farooq and Arif Lakhani, Parchi features an ensemble cast which includes Hareem Farooq, Ali Rehman Khan, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Usman Mukhtar and veteran actor Shafqat Cheema. Parchi is set to release on 5th January, 2018.
