Ms. Marvel is introducing Pakistan to a global audience in a way like never before. Following a Pakistani director, many local artists and songs, the third episode of the season also featured Travina Springer dressed in a bridal ensemble by a Pakistani designer Mohsin Naveed Ranjha.
Travina Springer plays Tyesha Hillman, who is the fiancé of Kamala Khan’s (Iman Vellani) brother Aamir Khan (played by Saagar Shaikh). In the third episode, Kamala danced to Bollywood number Dil Bole Hadippa at her brother’s mehndi. We were excited and equally amazed by Iman’s dance moves, along with her gora and desi friends, but soon Mohsin Naveed Ranjha took to Instagram to share a video clip from the series. He posted that the bride in the scene is wearing his label’s jora.

“Proud to be representing Pakistan on screen in the latest episode of Ms. Marvel with our festive outfit donned by actress Travina Springer. Thanks to Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Marvel for this opportunity and for putting us Pakistanis and our culture on the map,” the designer wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.

The festive wear in pastel shades is a beautiful bridal ensemble and looks amazing on the actress. However, in an exclusive chat with Something Haute, Mohsin shared that he had no idea who will wear his dress in the show.
“The story behind this dress is very long. I think we worked on it almost 16 to 18 months ago and truthfully, I was getting doubtful now that our dress won’t even make it to the final show. I was asked to send two outfits of the same design and size. Perhaps, they wanted an extra one in case of any malfunction or last moment mishap,” he shared.
“But that was all the information I had; size and design. I signed a six-page non-disclosure agreement (NDA), after all it is Marvel. There were too many terms and conditions to keep our involvement a secret. I had no clue who will wear it, when we will get to see it, where it will be featured and even in what film or series. It was just a Marvel project and I was ecstatic to be a part of it,” he added.
However, despite the ambiguity, it wasn’t a simple job at all. “There was a mood board. An Indian stylist was in touch with us and they did their homework on what they required from our label. We didn’t know in what scene our dress will be featured, but we were informed about the set design and colour theme of the background, and it should be a bridal outfit,” Mohsin stated.

Bollywood stars like Ranveer Singh and Huma Qureshi have worn Mohsin’s designs. The Lahore-based designer has collaborated with many Pakistani superstars and has reached Hollywood after dressing Tan France and a few actors from team Joyland for their red carpet appearance for Cannes. So, we wonder what’s next on his agenda that is going to take the internet by storm?
“I would love to collaborate with global stars, even Bollywood celebs. Unfortunately, the situations are not favorable in India or in Pakistan. Even if we respectfully work together in a project, there are always risks involved as intolerance is rampant across the border as well,” he concluded.
