A new docu-drama series, produced by ISPR, titled Jurrat ke Nishaan has recently been released. The episodic series pays tribute to the unsung heroes of our armed forces who have valiantly fought the war against terrorism.
Jurrat ke Nishan shows the courage displayed by personnel of Pakistan Armed Forces on different fronts, but these are stories that are seldom told in the media. The series delves into the stories of five brave hearts who showed passion, courage and determination as they won wars through sheer power of will, despite all odds and made sacrifices without an iota of doubt. The series pays an homage to the unyielding spirit of these brave souls and acknowledges that our armed forces personnel are selfless beings who protect the land with zeal.
In the Introduction, we get to see six major awards and medals that are bestowed to these brave armed officers including Gallantry Awards like Nishaan-i-Haider (Order of the Lion), Hilal-i-Jurat (Crescent of Courage), Sitara-i-Jurat (Star of Courage) and Tamgha-i-Jurat (Medal of Courage). There were also two non-operational awards like Sitara-e-Basalat (Star of Good Conduct) and Tamgha-e-Basalat (Medal of Good Conduct). Each episode of the series has been written, directed and produced by different people. So far, two episodes have been released.
The first episode is written and directed by Ehteshamuddin, who is also the Executive Producer along with Bilal Ashraf. It is based on the remarkable story of Major Abdul Kareem, played by Yugeshwar Karera. He stood fast against the vicious siege of Ladha Fort, South Waziristan in 2008. The terrorists outnumbered the soldiers at Ladha Fort and were able to organize on the surrounding ridges that overlook the fort. Despite paucity of supplies and ammunition, the fearless Maj Kareem and only 36 of his selfless under commands marked one of the bloodiest engagements of Pakistan Army against terrorists. It is a story of absolute valour, unrivaled will, and utmost faith that enables Maj Abdul Kareem to embrace the honour and pride of his motherland.
The second episode is produced and directed by Hazaar Dastaan Films. It is about Havaldar Muhammad Wafa, a Pakistani field-operator, spy who was given the mission of surveillance and intel gathering about the miscreants in district Washuk, Balochistan in 2015. He operated undercover and gathered key intelligence, which led to an operation against the “feraris”. Wafa was also a part of the leading ops team, who fought alongside Kalat Scouts, FC Balochistan, at the forefront. He got brutally injured during the fight and eventually embraced shahadat but still managed to kill 3 miscreants while fighting bravely. This Intel Based Operation, besides killing a close aide of Dr. Allah Nazar (BLF), busted one of the biggest Ferrari networks of Balochistan.
Both brave sons of the soil Major Abdul Kareem and Havaldar Muhammad Wafa (Shaheed) were awared Sitare-i-Basalat.
The upcoming episodes, as unveiled by teasers, will feature stories of Sepoy Salman Ali (Shaheed), Risaldar Muhammad Khan (Shaheed), and Major Shujaat Hussain (Shaheed) played by rising star Hamza Khawaja who has recently won over hearts in Sarmad Khoosat’s Kamli.
