7th Sky Entertainment’s Jhoom is a fresh addition to upcoming drama serials due to air on television this year only on Geo Entertainment. The drama underlines the societal issue of demurring a relationship between an older woman and a younger guy with a heartbreaking love story that is bound to catch the audience’s attention.
A serene and captivating backdrop coupled with a melodious OST running in the background, the three-minute teaser leaves a lasting impact on the viewers, teleporting them into a fictitious world of a fairytale love story that has a bitter twist to it.
It stars Ruposh actor Haroon Kadwani as Aryan alongside Zara Noor Abbas who will be playing the role of Maryam in this drama. The story will revolve around these two central characters who are in love with each other but due to their age difference — Maryam is older then Aryan by a few years — they have to face societal pressure and several obstacles.

The teaser begins with the dialogue “dunya mei sab se buri cheez hoti hai intezaar [the worst thing in the world is waiting]” and this one line sets the tone for the viewers as to what they can anticipate from the drama. The dialogue reflects heartbreak, patience, and wait of the protagonists.
The teaser is beautifully shot; most of the scenes feature a spot near a beach. There is a constant change in frames between sea and sky, which adds a poetic touch to the narrative. Being synonymous to the emotions of the the main characters as the sky here reflects tranquility, while the sea highlights the storm in their lives. Even the song running in the backdrop — Zindagi Awargi Hai — sets the right tone. The lyrics “usay faasaloon pe yakeen kyoon bohat hai… hamein door rehna kyoon ata nahi hai” (Why do they believe in distance…we don’t know how to live far away) seems like a cry of Aryan who wants his lover to stay with him but she is holding off due to society.

The drama is a representation of a signature 7th Sky Entertainment drama with grand production, dreamy backdrop, well-coordinated wardrobe of the main characters and good styling that add realism to the characters they are essaying.
Lastly, we also see Haroon’s character in jail and Zara Noor Abbas dressed as a bride in the teaser which shows that problems await for the couple in love. What remains to be seen is that will Maryam and Aryan resolve their differences or give in to the pressure of the society?
Jhoom is produced by Abdullah Kadwani & Asad Qureshi under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment. The drama is written by Hashim Nadeem Khan and is directed by Ali Faizan. The ensemble cast includes Haroon Shahid, Zainab Qayyum, Usman Peerzada, Reham Rafiq, Noreen Gulwani among others.
