IFW, Oscars, LPNY and Humsafar

Islamabad Fashion Week has been postponed to April 10, 2012 which means that between FPW3 (April 6-9), IFW (April 10-13) and PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week (April 13-16) April will be a month to conserve energy for. Add the Sky Fashion Showcase to that list (March 26-29) and you’ll be exhausted already.

What a feeling!

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s Vanity Fair party outfit by Sana Safinaz was accessorized by a lovely (ruby and diamond) ring and bracelet designed especially for the occasion by Sherezad Rahimtoola. SOC was also presented a pair of diamond earrings to go with the bracelet but she couldn’t wear them as the earrings she had worn earlier (by Kiran Aman) were quite heavy and she couldn’t carry through the night wearing another equally ceremonious pair. So she pulled out a lighter pair from her personal collection. Incidentally, that smaller pair was by Sara Taseer Shoaib.

On another note, Sana Safinaz lawn, that will be available by mid-March is already being pre-booked by crazy women who want to ensure they have the prints without even seeing them. Now that’s what I call brand loyalty.

Ali Zafar’s London Paris New York is already making waves in India, with big celebrities like Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan tweeting praises about them. “I believe Aditi and Ali Zafar are spectacular and the film makes you want to be in love,” Tweeted @kjohar25. @iHrithik posted: “LPNY has the most refreshing promos I’ve seen in recent times. WELL DONE golden!!”

I, for one, am watching it on Friday and will post my comments then.

Lastly, I have it from very good sources that certain scenes from Humsafar’s last episode are being re-shot to manic appease fans. Though not many changes are being made,  the modified last episode will also be screened to a select audience with the cast and crew in attendance. And if you’re a fan and have not received your Humsafar T-shirt then now is a good time to start your sit-out outside HUM TV offices.
