The trailer of Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 has been in the news ever since its release but not for the right reasons. Firstly, it became the most disliked trailer on YouTube, with over 7 million dislikes, amidst nepotism debate. Now, a Pakistani musician has claimed that the song featured in its trailer — Ishq Kamaal — is plagiarised.
Pakistani artist, Shezan Saleem aka JO-G (son of popular singer Saleem Javed), uploaded a video in which he compared the song Ishq Kamaal with one of the songs he produced for singer Zaid Khan titled Rabba Ho released in 2011.
Though we haven’t heard the complete song from Sadak 2 yet, there are chances of a possible similarity in tune. The singer asked people on Twitter to weigh in and majority has agreed that the tunes sound alike. However, surprisingly the singer is not demanding an answer from Mahesh Bhatt. Instead, he is holding the music producers responsible.

According to DNA India, the music composer of the film, Suniljeet has denied any such allegations and issued a statement saying, “Ishq Kamaal is my original composition and doesn’t share similarity to any other song. Everybody involved in making this song including singer Javed Ali has added his magic to the music. This is my debut as a music director and all I hope for is that people like the song when it comes out.”
Sadak 2 is the sequel to the 1991 film Sadak, The upcoming film stars Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur and is slated for release on 28th August on Disney + hotstar.
