“I have been rejected in several auditions,” shares Komail Anam aka Wali Muhammad of Sinf-e-Aahan

Komail Anam, the son of Khalid Anam and Tehmina Khalid came into the spotlight after his recent appearance in Sinf e Aahan as Wali Muhammad. He played a below-average student in the drama, which  he says is similar to his real-life personality as a young boy. He couldn’t be controlled or disciplined, however, at the age of 23, he believes he has gone through a complete personality change.

In an exclusive chat with Hassan Choudary of Something Haute, he shared that despite being the son of famous celebrity parents, he has been rejected in several auditions.

“While growing up I was more interested in music. Even when I was in school I would take part in competitions,” he said, adding that he was not really interested in becoming an  actor.  “But my mother is a drama lover. She would come home from work and watch all these drama and I would sit with her. That’s where I developed interest in the field,” he confessed.

Like most of us, he also grew up watching and being inspired by Bollywood films. “It’s a thing in our family that we sit and watch lots of movies and series. Almost daily we watch movies.”

However, when he told his dad that he wants to become an actor, he had to give auditions like any young aspiring actor.

“After college, I told my dad that I want to act. I went to give auditions and got rejected several times,” he revealed, adding that it is a misconception that star kids have it easy.

“My father is an actor and actors are paid to provide a service. It’s not like my father has a contribution in the production of the project. Why would anyone risk their project involving  so much money and so many people just to launch me based on their friendship with my father?” he explained

Komail made his debut with a small role in HUM TV’s Chamak Dhamak and has worked hard to make his potential known.
