Karachi is not unknown to festivals lighting up the metropolis every year or so. However, what it truly misses out on is a continuous effort to making the city and its public spaces more inclusive and immersive. That being said, things are about to change in the city with the sound of music.

I Am Karachi (IAK), in collaboration with the Arts Council Karachi and Lok Virsa is all set to hold a music festival in Karachi starting from November 11th, which aims to not only bring music to the city but also actively use public spaces in Karachi to ‘activate’ them.

Creating a unique partnership between three major arts entities in the country, the music festival will run for five weeks at various spaces in Karachi, which would include a ‘mix of diverse music,’ according to the creative heads present at the press conference.

Although the list of artists performing at the festival hasn’t been disclosed yet, the curator of the festival, musician Mekaal Hasan said the festival would have ‘every colour of Pakistani music’, as it aims to bring people together.
