KARACHI: Nobody gets more excited than we do when Pakistani artists drop new tracks because we absolutely love the work being done by our artists! All upcoming names, such as Faris Shafi, Hasan Raheem, Towers, Maanu, Rizzy Rozeo and Peach Fuzz are producing stellar tracks and they aren’t afraid to collaborate with each other.

This is precisely why we have curated a list of artists and their songs to watch out for this month. While there isn’t a shortage of fresh, new music pouring out of Pakistan right now, this playlist is purely limited to dance numbers which can be enjoyed at parties and weddings this year.

1. Sohna Tu – Taha Malik ft Aima Baig, HYDR, Javed Bashir, Rizzy Rozeo

This song has gotten us so excited, we’re at a loss for words. Anyone can easily tell that some of the freshest minds got together to produce this absolutely smashing dance track. While the song is unbelievably catchy, it’s the choreography that has stolen the show for us. Kamal Khan, who directed Laal Kabootar, is the creative force behind this video. Must watch!

2. Shaam – Talal Qureshi, Towers, Mujju, Maanu

The boys who made it big with their song Filhaal have joined hands with Talal Qureshi, Mujju and Maanu to produce this hip-hop track, perfect to vibe to during an evening drive around the city.

3. Sun Le Na – Hasan Raheem, Abdullah Kasumbi

No music list is complete wwithout Hasan Raheem these days. As time is going by, Hasan Raheem is showing more diversity in terms of his sound, but Sun Le Na is also a visual treat, with a video that features artist and actor Adeel Afzal.

4. LAFZ – Faris Shafi

You can’t tap into the young music market if you don’t produce songs with lyrics that the youth can connect to. While Faris Shafi’s songs are filled with various profanities that are too offensive for mainstream platforms, they can be heard/watched on YouTube very easily. LAFZ by Faris has a sick beat, and the lyrics are modern and relatable for the millenial/Gen-Z age group.

5. Sar Phira – Peach Fuzz, RFB, Shams

Peach Fuzz is a new name that’s bound to become mainstream soon. But for now, this band has a more modest reach as compared to the other names on this list, but their music quality and creativity is clearly at par with the rest. Sar Phira illustrates that point perfectly. The vocals have an old-school charm, while the music is definitely modern. We love!

6. Big Like Large – Rizzy Rozeo, Maanu, Ashir, Taha G

This song is a blockbuster collaboration. All the upcoming movers and shakers of the music scene have come together to produce this smashing diss track that also has a really fun, one-take video.

7. Bonafide – Taha G, Rizzy Romeo

Rizzy keeps showing up quite a bit, we agree. But he’s definitely a star in the making, we can’t avoid adding him to this list. Listening to Bonafide might remind you of the Weeknd – the mood of the song and the video is definitely similar. But both Taha and Rizzy maintain their desi roots and we are happy to hear Urdu in the song (along with English lyrics).
