Cricket has gone from the Test format to One Day to T20 and now, looking for even more brevity, the T10, which is a 90 minute match; a ‘quickie’ if you like. And after the great success of the Pakistan Super League championship, it looks like the next big thing in Pakistan, or South Asia in particular, is going to be the T10 Cricket League. This cricket tournament is said to feature nearly one hundred of the finest cricketers, including Shahid Afridi from Pakistan, Virender Sehwag from India and Eoin Morgan from England.
The T10 tournament was announced last night in Dubai, with 5 teams that are Punjabi Legends (owner: Inzamam ul Haq), Pakhtoons (owner: Habib Khan), Maratha Arabians (owner: Sohail Khan) Bangla Tigers (owner: Shirajuddin Alam), Colombo Lions and Kerala Kings. While we’re looking at a lot of cricket stars, what is cricket without a dose of filmy star power? And so Salman Iqbal, President of the T10 Cricket League, invited a cluster of stars including Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Fahad Mustafa and Adnan Siddiqui to add some star power to the launch.
Also attending the event were Sohail Khan and Kriti Sanon from India; we expect more Bollywood stars – Salman Khan especially – making an appearance to support Sohail Khan’s team!
Commencing from the 21st of December, the matches will be broadcasted live from Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
