Breakthrough actors of 2023

With a variety of themes explored in drama serials, there is no doubt that Pakistani television’s storytelling landscape has become quite diverse. While captivating plots and intriguing narratives attract acclaim, one cannot overlook the significance of performances as they have the power to take a project to new heights or diminish its impact altogether.
Actors such as Iqra Aziz, Yumna Zaidi, Wahaj Ali, and Bilal Abbas are ruling the world of television and are just some of the many names who have notable performances to their credit. Yet, in recent years, television has introduced a wave of fresh faces, some of whom have given breakthrough performances on the small screen.

Dananeer Mobeen
The ‘pawry’ girl who became an internet sensation overnight made her acting debut with the drama serial Sinf-e-Ahan. Though she garnered praise for her acting skills, the emerging star Dananeer Mobeen gave her breakthrough performance in the drama Mohabbat Gumshuda Meri, proving that she can take on diverse roles too. We would love to see more of that in the future as well.

Feroz Kadri
Feroz Kadri is another rising star who has made it to our list of breakthrough actors. Having started his acting career with drama serial Wafa Kar Chalay, he has emerged as a talented artist in recent years. However, his brilliant portrayal of Rayyan – a troubled guy with a shadowy past – in his ongoing drama serial Gumn is quite commendable. With a natural flair for acting, we’re glad he’s opting for diverse roles.

Shaheera Jalil Albasit
Budding actor Shaheera Jalil Albasit has definitely carved a niche for herself with her remarkable portrayal of character Razia in the recently concluded drama Razia. Featuring Mahira Khan, Mohib Mirza, Momal Sheikh and Shaheera in key roles, the drama highlighted a true image of society and the struggles of a woman. One thing is sure that the actress who made her debut with this project has done a great job, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.

Khushhal Khan
It took three years for Khushhal Khan to finally get a major role in drama serial Mohabbat Gumshuda Meri. He kick-started his acting career with the web series Midsummer Chaos which received much acclaim. Later, he played the lead role in Qissa Meherbano Ka followed by Bebasi, Mushkil and Wehshi, proving his mettle as a versatile actor. However, he has landed rave reviews for his character Saim in Mohabat Gumshuda Meri and we can say for sure that this performance stands out as his breakthrough in the drama industry.
