Kubra Khan is a name that needs no introduction. Currently starring in two of the biggest dramas — Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay and Sinf e Aahan — airing on television, she is all set to be seen in Sang E Mah that will air soon.

However, despite being part of the biggest projects this year, Kubra in an exclusive chat with Hassan Choudary of Something Haute revealed that she has been through a lot in the last few years that shook her confidence to the core.

“Last two-three years were horrible for me. First, Covid and then there were other things that were happening in my life. So, I was eating my emotions away, I had gained a little bit of weight,” she revealed.

“I went back to London and then I had to go through a check-up. When I got it done, the doctor told me that there is a possibility that I might have cancer, she shared adding that she panicked when she found out. “So when I found that out, I obviously panicked cause I did not see that coming.”

Kubra, who is currently playing Mashal in Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay, revealed that this happened in January 2021. “I said Alhumdulliah that I found out at the right time. The doctor said that they would have to operate me right away to remove the lump and find out which stage.”

“I had an operation and then I had a second operation,” she revealed, adding, that thankfully it wasn’t cancer. “Had it not been removed in time, it could’ve turned into something horrible. It was a tumor.”

“So, when you saw me in the start of the year, I was chubby,” she accepted adding that when people fat-shammed her, she felt “worse”.

“I couldn’t even tell anyone about the battle I had been fighting. I’ve never been fat my entire life. I thought I didn’t have that gene,” the star confessed explaining how harsh people can be sometimes.

People told Kubra she had gained weight and would not look nice on the screen. “I started losing work.”

Kubra had signed Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay two days after her operation. “I had gained weight and the doctor had strictly advised me not to do more than brisk walk.”

She couldn’t diet or work out, and the trolls would fat shame her to make it worse. “My morale and confidence kept shattering.” The actor also confessed that she did not think she would be offered Sinf e Aahan considering she was “fat”.

No matter how much we think we know our favorite celebrities, no one knows what the other person is going through which is why it’s so important to be kind to everyone and refrain from unsolicited comments and advice.
