Director and filmmaker, Mehreen Jabbar has carved a niche for herself with sheer hard work and is recognized in the entertainment industry for her unparalleled storytelling. Having produced some of the most phenomenal television dramas previously, Mehreen has recently been working on a couple of web series. Her latest directorial venture, Ek Jhoothi Love Story, penned by Umera Ahmed, is a web series that is all set to launch on Zee5 today.
In an exclusive chat with Something Haute, Mehreen shared her experience of working on the project, Indo-Pak collaborations, and her thoughts regarding the future of such ventures.
“The experience working on this web series was unforgettable. It reminded me of the good old days of our industry when the focus was on content and nothing else,” shared Mehreen.
Speaking of the collaboration with Zee5 and its prospects, the Daam director shared that such ventures foster a deeper understanding and are beneficial for both countries.
“I am hopeful we continue to have such collaborations as it’s beneficial to both sides and fosters understanding and goes a long way in forging connections and sharing stories,” she said.
“I had the great fortune of getting a truly wonderful team starting from the producers at Zee5 and Motion Content Group to the best ensemble cast and dedicated crew,” she added.
Considering the recent ban on certain TV and film content, we also asked Mehreen to share her thoughts regarding the future of digital storytelling and the shift towards web content.
“I think the world, in general, is moving towards the digital medium and this platform has the potential for people across the world to connect with each other through stories,” the director responded.
