The ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ famed actress Tanushree Dutta caused a massive uproar in the media after she accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual misconduct. Since then, she has become a topic of discussion. However, just when it created a turmoil on social media, Nana Patekar finally decided to break his silence on the claims against him.
Responding to these accusations, recently the actor laughed at them and decided to repond. “What does she mean by sexual harassment? We were on the set and there were 200 people sitting in front of us,†he told an Indian publication. According to Patekar, he could not have possibly done anything like that as the entire crew was on the set of the film. He even went on to say, “Let anyone say anything. I will continue to do in my life what I have been doing.”
He also stated that he will look into legal recourse and take appropriate action if he deems fit. He said, “I will see what can be done legally. Let’s see. It is also wrong/inappropriate to talk to you (media) since you publish anything.“
Post this revelation, it evident that the Nana Patekar is least affected by Tanushree Dutta’s accusations and is continuing his work.
Farhan Akhtar spoke some powerful word, “Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned.”
This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today. Even when #TanushreeDutta had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not & her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned. https://t.co/Ola3MNdmtS

Sonam Kapoor like others also spoke on the matter.
I believe #TanushreeDatta and @janiceseq85 recollection of the account. Janice is my friend, and she is anything but an exaggerator or a liar. And it’s upto us to stand together. https://t.co/sF3mS5o1P8

Twinkle Khanna, known for her intelligence and undeniable wit had some powerful thoughts on the matter.
Please read this thread before judging or shaming #TanushreeDutta a working environment without harassment and intimidation is a fundamental right and by speaking up this brave woman helps pave the way towards that very goal for all of us! https://t.co/f8Nj9YWRvE

Similarly, actress Richa Chaddha also applauded Tanushree courage for speaking up against the exploitation.
It hurts to be #TanushreeDutta rn. To be alone, questioned. No woman wants publicity that opens the floodgates of trolling and insensitivity. What happened to her on set was intimidation. Her only fault was she didn’t back down-takes a special courage to be #TanushreeDutta.

Swara Bhaskar took it to another level by posting an article on Buzzfeed where she talks about abuse.
So many women face abuse for simply speaking their minds. This is in solidarity with all the girls (and boys) who refuse to be silenced. May our tribe increase. Thanks @NishSwish https://t.co/qmNHskEGFy
