Sridevi’s untimely death didn’t only affect her family but also a large number of her fans who found it difficult to cope with the loss.
The veteran actress was all set to be a part of Karan Johar’s upcoming production being helmed by Abhishek Verman. Today, Sridevi’s elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram to confirm that Madhuri Dixit will now be taking up Sridevi’s role in the movie.
Janhvi shared a photo of Sridevi and Madhuri with the caption, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart… Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film….”

It was with this film (Shiddat), which was going to reunite Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt on the big screen after a gap of 25 years.
According to reports, the cast also includes Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. Shiddat is a period drama set during the time of India-Pakistan partition. Manish Malhotra is designing the look for the entire cast.
