While it’s no secret anymore that Islamabad is the party capital of the country – albeit all underground – it also has a positive side attached to all the pomp and show. One example of this is the upcoming Mad Decent Block Party which features not only international stars like the Major Lazer trio but also have a philanthropic side to it.
Scheduled for February 3rd, the upcoming show in Islamabad will feature Major Lazer (of ‘Lean On’ fame), Adil Omar and Talal Qureshi, Chrome Sparks, and Lyari Underground, amongst others. Reportedly, part of the sales from the show will be donated to Sahil – a NGO working towards the protection of children against child sexual abuse – in tribute to Zainab.
Major Lazer also took to Twitter to announce the move.
“TIX ON SALE TMRW W/ PART OF SALES GOING TO http://SAHIL.ORG  FOR ZAINAB ANSARI,†they posted.
Mad Decent is a record label managed by electronic musician Diplo, which has been doing the ‘Block Party’ at various locations globally each year. This year, they chose the Pakistani capital as the venue, given the bustling electronic scene in the country.
