It is a universal fact, much like the ban on white after labor day (something we still fail to understand), that half the fun of going out is directly or indirectly leaning on looking like a million bucks, whether you are headed out on a big date or just catching up with your social obligations. I bet you want to impress everyone by looking like the alpha of the pack or just the queen bee of the flock and while most of us usually are covered on our fashion quotients, people always ignore that looking good is not always, only about the better outfit.

While we always suggest hitting the gym regularly, for most people it ends up being such a chore. Fear not, our avid hauteliers; we always bring you a shortcut, because that’s how good we are to you all. That way, no matter where your night takes you, you can be sure that you are going to be presenting the best version of yourself whether in your clothes-or out of them.

So how can you make sure you look your best that night? We went straight to the expert, Shehzad Malik, the head coach of the renowned 42 Day Challenge, and the fitness expert told us a little secret: “Go for a targeted workout to increase blood flow to the muscles and cause a temporary overflow so that your muscle cells are engorged with extra blood to pump you up and you appear like you just stepped onto a red carpet.”

Now if that sounds simple enough our fitness guru was also kind enough to give us a 5-minute workout that will not only get the juices flowing but also can be done from the comfort of your own home.

Shall we get to it?

Push-ups

Get on your hands and get in a straight plank position and then bend your elbows and push down. Try to touch your chin to the ground and then lift up all the way till your arms are straight. Do not lift your hips up. Keep your body in a straight line.

Mountain climbers

Get in push-up position while keeping your body in a straight line and bring your knee towards your chest. Run in that position only touching your feet when your legs are straight. Do not touch them on the ground when your knee comes forward.

High knees

Stand in position and run while trying to bring your knees to your chest. Bring your knee as high as possible and run in position.

Burpees

Stand straight then put your hands on the ground and with your legs jump back so your body gets in a straight line. Then jump forward and get up. When you get up jump in the air and repeat this movement.

Plank

Get in push-up position instead of being on your hands get on your elbows and hold your body in a straight line. Make sure you keep your stomach sucked in.
