British-Pakistani actor Zoha Rahman, who we’re watching these days in Geo TV drama Dil e Momin and have also seen as Marvel’s first hijab wearing character in Spider-Man: Far From Home, has now signed her next project, Lord Curzon Ki Haveli, directed by Anshuman Jha. This film will add to her roster of diverse projects, which include the Ranveer Singh starrer ’83, Foundation on Apple TV and Young Wallander on Netflix.

Lord Curzon Ki Haveli will go into production in the UK this month and Zoha will be seen alongside Emmy nominated actor Arjun Mathur (Made in Heaven), Rasika Dugal (Delhi Crime and Mirzapur) and Paresh Pahuja. It’s been written by Bikas Mishra and marks Anshuman Jha’s directorial debut. Jha is a Hindi film and theatre actor best known for his role in Love Sex Aur Dhoka.

Lord Curzon Ki Haveli is a black comedy about South Asians based in the UK and Zoha plays one of those characters, adding a unique cultural angle to the story.

Shedding light on her character, she says, “My character was incredibly fun to play with, what ultimately made me say yes to this black comedy was the quiet strength she shows. She’s absurdly unhinged and yet she could be any ordinary woman you meet on the street; the balance between the two extremes was why it was so much fun!”

Zoha also added how working with Anshuman was “a dream” and the fact that he trusted her with one of his favourite characters, helping her make that role her own, was a highlight.

“His strengths as a director lie in his experience as an actor. We were on the same wavelength, so he could extract the best possible performance from me.”

Twice delayed due to the pandemic, Lord Curzon Ki Haveli is scheduled for a 2022 release. Until then, we’ll continue seeing Zoha playing Ainee, Momin’s (Faysal Quraishi) younger sister in Dil e Momin. In an interview with Something Haute, Zoha had shared how the pandemic had impacted all her international projects and it had turned out to be a good time to come to Pakistan and sign up for a drama serial here.

How and Why, we lost East Pakistan is very unclear till day by most of the peoples of Pakistan. New generation does not know about the separation of East & West Pakistan they just argue on false information which has been conveyed, this documentary has come up with the first person’s narrative from those who were either fighting the war or were war victims. This must be very thoughtful and informative to disclose the real reasons, facts and figures of the 1971 war. All students must watch this documentary themselves to know the real truth.
