Junoon’s classic track Sayonee is a masterpiece; the song never gets old and nothing beats the original. Previously in 2017, when Coke Studio covered the song with singers Ali Noor and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the remake received major criticism.

It has been proven that no one does Sayonee better than Junoon as the song is only made for Ali Azmat’s voice. However, Bollywood made this mistake yet again. As much as we, Pakistanis, love Arjit Singh’s vocals, we cannot forgive him for the sin he has committed.

Arijit’s version of the song has been released by T-Series for an upcoming Bollywood movie. “Bringing back the magic of 90s with the cult hit in Arijit Singh’s voice,” shared T-Series. The song has been produced for Sayonee The Movie featuring Rahul Roy, Tanmay Ssingh and Musskan Sethi.

According to India Times, the music of the song has been composed by Joy-Anjan, while Alaukik Rahi penned the lyrics.

This is what Junoon fans have been saying about the remake on Twitter:

People want the government to take note of this matter!

Some want to sue Bollywood.

Pakistan can forgive Coke Studio, but not India.

Was this revenge?

Not only Pakistanis, but Indian fans have also shared their displeasure.

“If Pakistan goes to war with India over this. I see no wrong,” wrote a fan.
