Anonymous Pakistani comedian on Instagram, Swineryy, who expresses herself with different animated emoji characters is the country’s most hilarious find in recent times. The Karachi-based account garnered massive following within a short span of time and has now reached 213K followers. And now Swinerry is invited to speak at the University of Michigan at their symposium titled “Social Media Influencers and the New Political Economy in South Asia and Africa”.

The comedian will be speaking at the sixth session which is about “Comedy and Power”. She will talk about the “risks involved in comedy” among other topics at the conference, which will be taking place on April 7-8 and will be live-streamed.

The comedian took to Twitter and shared that “my talk is about comedy, the risks involved, and what it means and takes to be funny. Free to attend online or in person in Michigan!”

She also shared on Instagram Stories that her talk is a “prediction” as she hasn’t written it yet. “I feel like I’m gonna give an exam.”

Swineryy will be joined by sociologist Nida Kirmani, as well as Indian actor Swara Bhasker and Aminu Mahmud, a human rights lawyer from Nigeria. Other Pakistanis who are invited to speak at different session in the event include Nighat Dad, lawyer and activist, Digital Rights Foundation, and activist Gulalai Ismail.

Swinerry is known for her pig avatar, which is also the display picture on her social media accounts. She recently featured in Meesha Shafi’s music video Hot Mango Chutney Sauce.
