Shamoon Abbasi has been in the news lately as the actor is actively pursuing different projects and that too on unusual subjects. We all know about his directorial venture Durj which narrates a frightful tale of a Pakistani man-eater. Later we heard that he will be featuring in a web-series Mind Games which will be a crime-based show about money laundering. Now the actor is geared up to direct and produce another web show tentatively titled The Urban Legend of Jawed Iqbal and the 100 Smiles.

Speaking to Instep, Shamoon shared that this show, like Durj, will be based on real-life stories.

“Real life stories and events have always inspired me and this web series/miniseries is again based on a true story,” Shamoon said adding, “Right now we are just waiting for Durj to get to a point and we will start shooting for the web series probably after Eid.”

Shamoon also spoke about how people are skeptical about the poster he has recently released on social media.

“I just want to clarify that we are not calling Jawed Iqbal the legend. We have used ‘legend’ which actually means storytelling. However, we might change the poster and re-launch it within a month,” he said.

According to the actor, the story of the show will highlight the journey of a serial killer who murdered 100 children and later surrendered himself to the police for the heinous crime he committed.

The cast of The Legend of Jawed Iqbal has not been finalized yet. “I am essaying the character of Jawed Iqbal in the miniseries, which will highlight the part of his life that many people are unaware of; like how it all started and what the actual story is. It will be focused on details that will create an interesting screenplay,” he added.
