Sarmad Khoosat is on a roll these days; the actor-cum-director has completed one film — Zindagi Tamasha — and before its official release, he has announced another project, Kamli.
Zindagi Tamasha is the acclaimed director’s first-ever Punjabi feature film, which is also his first production under Khoosat Films. Featuring Arif Hasan, Samiya Mumtaz, Eman Suleiman and Ali Kureishi in the lead, it is shot in Punjabi.
Sarmad has finally revealed a few looks of the film’s characters on his social media. Samiya Mumtaz is playing Farkhanda. “Years of ill-health have made a withdrawn person out of Farkhanda with cheeky humor managing to break through every once in a while. She is now the quiet spectator of the events that unfold in lives of those around her,” he wrote about her role.
He introduced another character, Rahat, “a naatkhawan [who] enjoys a celebrity status amongst the community in the old city of Lahore. He is a devout Muslim, who, in the eyes of everyone is a superhuman incapable of any sacrilege. Hence, when he does wrong there is no forgiveness for him.”

We have yet to see Eman Suleman’s look in the film. It was recently revealed that the film has been cleared by all three censor boards and is all set to release later this year.
Zindagi Tamasha is all set to screen at Busan International Film Festival, held annually in Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea.
