After Rishi Kapoor tweeted about his sudden trip to the USA for medical treatment, fans and publications alike began to speculate about his ailment. While Rishi specifically mentioned in his tweet not to ‘unnecessarily speculate’, reports insinuated that the veteran actor has been diagnosed with cancer which has escalated to an advanced stage.

However, Rishi’s brother, Randhir Kapoor has now dismissed all such reports.

Speaking exclusively to ETimes, Randhir said, “We don’t know yet what the nature of his ailment is. Rishi himself does not know what he’s suffering from. He’s yet to undergo tests; how can people speculate that he has cancer and that too, one that has escalated to an advanced stage?”

Randhir shared that the Chandani star has reached America two, three days ago and has been preparing for tests that he has to undergo so instead of speculating, everyone should let him go undergo tests peacefully and whatever the results will be, will be shared with them. “Depending on what the results are, his line of treatment, medication and other modalities will be decided upon. It’s not fair to speculate things just like that,” he told ETimes.

Reports also suggest that wife, Neetu Kapoor and son, Ranbir Kapoor have accompanied the 64-year veteran actor for treatment. Daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, will be joining the family in America soon while Ranbir will heading to Mumbai to get back to work.

Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla were supposed to start shooting for an upcoming film, but amidst his ailment, the project has been put on hold.
