Nimrat Kaur, who graces the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar Bride India in a hot red bridal creation, was the star attraction at the launch of the cover that took place last night in St. Regis Dubai.
The event was a prelude to the Weekend Couture Wedding Affair presented by the fashion magazine. The grand launch happened in the presence of India’s king of couture Rohit Bal and JJ Valaya between all the high heeled fashionistas and privileged invitees of the night. The Wedding Affair brings together an electric mix of prominent designers from India including Rohit Bal, Gaurav Gupta, Manish Arora and JJ Valaya where privileged invitees can attend special master classes with the ace couturiers and get first hand information about their designs as well as get advice on how to dress a bride for the upcoming season.
Something Haute caught up with the legendary Rohit Bal about his views on the current cover. He shared, “I think it looks fabulous and more than that it is a very intelligent cover. Nimrat has a very strong personality and it shows in the cover. Red is the color of the season so they have got it all right.â€
We asked him who his favourite fashion figure from Bollywood was and no points for guessing his response. “ I’ll have to say Sonam Kapoor. She is in an altogether different league when it comes to fashion. She knows how to carry herself in every style and I simply love her. She is truly an international style icon.†And when we asked him if he were to write a book on fashion what would it be called. “A lot of Fashion,†he said, before heading out for the ceremony.
Nimrat entered in an all black attire and looked ultra glamorous. We asked her to share her fashion statement with us and she smiled, “Fashion to me is all about taking risks but without compromising on your style and comfort. For me less has always been more and I believe if you stick to this rule of fashion, you never hit a wrong note.â€
Harper’s Bazaar Bride, which is synonymous with luxury weddings, opulent bridal-wear and international lifestyle will hold a two day bespoke wedding exhibition in Dubai that goes on to be the end all and be all of all wedding related services. The idea is to be a one-stop shop for brides and their families-to-be to pick up each and everything required for the upcoming wedding.
For us this glamorous event will officially kick off the wedding season in South Asia. In Pakistan, the PFDC L’Oreal Bridal Couture Week will take place in Lahore on September 28-30 whereas Fashion Pakistan’s Winter Festive 2016 is scheduled for end October in Karachi and Hum TV’s Bridal Couture Week will return to Lahore at the end of November. That certainly does look like one big, fat wedding season up ahead!
