The 10th Masala! Awards took place in Dubai last night and along with Bollywood stars like Sridevi, Arjun Rampal, Govinda and Boman Irani, there was also a great amount of star power from Pakistan. Some of our most talented actresses, Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar, Mawra Hocane and Meera jee, put their best foot forward and dazzled at the award show.
The night included killer performances by dancing legends Govinda and Sri Devi on some of their hit songs, and our actresses picked up some awards too. Who did what, you ask? Here’s the lowdown!
Mawra Hocane wore a statement red Michael Cinco gown, and we caught her right before she drove off!
The actress was awarded Social Media Sensation – no surprises there!
Mahira, on the other hand, wore a more subtle tone of reddish pink by Rami Al Ali and kept things minimal. The Verna star was awarded for being the Asian Woman of Substance.
Of course, before posing, she was actually all smiles like she always is!
Saba Qamar opted for a monochrome feathered number by Shehla Chatoor, paired with a red clutch.
Red was definitely the colour of the night, as even Meera jee opted for a pleated scarlet dress.
Saba Qamar and Meera took a moment to pose with design powerhouse Manish Malhotra too.
Mawra and Sridevi flashed their pretty smiles as they posed together. We wonder why Sajal Aly wasn’t at the ceremony. We would have loved to see her and Sridevi together.
Faraz Manan, who won Best Designer at the awards last year, was also in attendance!
Saba Qamar picked up the award for Best Breakthrough Performance for Hindi Medium and posed with Arjun Rampal, who received an award from Meera jee, for his Contribution to Cinema.
