Srha Asghar has been working in the entertainment industry for nearly six years, but she made a mark recently in drama serial Pyar Ke Sadqay and web series Ek Jhoothi Love Story and both times she played the most affable and endearing sister to Bilal Abbas Khan. Srha can be seen in a completely different role in currently airing Aakhir Kab Tak where she plays a complex role like Fajar.
In a conversation with Aamna Isani of Something Haute, Srha talked about her passion to pursue acting, her goals and more about Fajar.
“I have played sister to the hero in majority of my projects and the reason is simply that’s what I am offered. But luckily I have done great projects with good directors so I am happy. I usually hear that I look so young so I don’t fit certain characters,” she said.
“While I was reading Fajar, I also felt that she is a depressing character. I was instructed by our director Syed Ali Raza Usama to read the whole script before approaching him to discuss anything. Then, when I started reading it, I realized that I wanted to do this kind of story for a long time and there were a lot of things about Fajar that I could relate to. Some real-life experiences and traumas that shape a person’s life can help in portraying the pain of a character,” she added.

“Then I prepared three scenes from the script and performed in the next meeting, where I stuttered for the first time and our director really liked the idea. The reason I wanted to do Fajar was because I want people to fight when they are going through a bad phase in life. I had a time when I was struggling with things in life and my brother said to me ‘I trust you’ and these are the three words that Fajar hasn’t ever heard,” she explained.
