With the sudden demise of Om Puri this year, the Indian film industry has lost another veteran actor whose work was completely beyond any physical boundaries. To celebrate exactly this spirit of bravura acting, Nandita Puri, the actor’s wife, has confirmed that a biopic on the life of the great veteran actor is in the works.

Nandita, a journalist by profession, is also the writer of the actor’s biography, Unlikely Hero: The Story of Om Puri. Speaking to IANS, Nandita said, “I am adapting the book. I am making a biopic on Omji. I am taking part of the book and I am putting it as he wanted, as an inspirational story.”

The actor to play the lead role for the film is is yet to be decided, as the screenplay and script are still underway. “We are just at the developing stage of the screenplay. The script is the most important thing for a film,” stated Nandita.
