The renowned designer, popular for his signature red-soled shoes, is now also known for his cross-border collaborations. Christian Louboutin has previously collaborated with Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, coming out with three limited edition kitsch collections.

However, what had everyone excited was when Louboutin visited Pakistan earlier this year for an exclusive dinner hosted by the Art Divvy Foundation. His trip included a visit to Lahore’s National College of Art, and it seems that the designer went back quite inspired! The Louboutin brand has introduced a flat shoe, called Lahore Flat!

The shoe, which features a pointed toe and a tie-able scarf that wraps around the ankle, comes in three designs- one classic black, and two more options that are printed in his Loubitag hand-drawn scribbles. However, what has us confused is the fact that while the website description for the shoe talks about the scarf being ‘inspired by Christian’s visit to a famous scarf designer in Venice’, there is no mention of his inspiration from the historical city of Lahore. Perhaps the name of the shoe was enough to make that part clear!
