Bollywood kid Sara Ali Khan’s debut venture, Kedarnath’s teaser is out and by the looks of it, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter seems to be a strong actor in the making.
Set on a backdrop of mother nature’s wrath, the love story between Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan features the two in the Himlayan spiritual city of Kedarnath. However, in the teaser sans dialogues, there’s more than just the picturesque visuals. It gives us a glimpse of Sara Ali Khan who is a spitting image of her mother Amrita Singh in the visuals. She looks more Singh and less Pataudi and will take you back to the memories of Amrita’s heydays.
Sara sharing a candid moment with Sushant on sets
Sara plays a girl-next-door, Mukku, while Sushant Singh Rajput plays a reserved fellow Mansoor, a ‘pithoo’ – people who carry pilgrims on their back – at the Kedarnath shrine. The film is based on Mukku’s 14-km journey to Kedarnath at a time when sudden floods devastated Uttarakhand in 2013. With dark clouds engulfing the village, the teaser shows scenes of Sushant and Sara fighting for their survival against their antagonist, which is nature in this case. Mukku is her constant companion on the pilgrimage, during the course of which the two weave a beautiful tale.
Sara Ali Khan as a debutante leaves a lasting impression with a confident yet naïve screen presence. The teaser will indeed capture your attention through the length of it, but we really didn’t like the absence of dialogues.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Kedarnath is slated for releases on December 7. However, Sara will also share screen space with Ranveer Singh in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, which will hit screens on December 28, 2018. Let’s see which one of her releases leaves a long-lasting mark.
