With Ramazan fast approaching, many television dramas are wrapping up their episodes to give way to more lighthearted plays suited to the season. The prime time slot garners maximum viewership and thus directors are creating witty plays to tickle our funny bones in the upcoming month. We all witness how big a phenomena was Suno Chanda last year, so much so that the team decided to come up with a continuation this year.
Here is a list of few dramas which will telecast in Ramazan, Eid and even post Eid. Sit tight as every offering this year has the best comical minds at the helm (Dr. Younis Butt largely) along with A-list celebrities geared up to leave everlasting impressions with their characters.
Suno Chanda 2
Let’s begin with the most-anticipated, hyped and loved rom-com play i.e Suno Chanda 2. Jiya and Arsal are back with their sweet banters, teasing and longing stares. The two have made our hearts flutter and now we cannot wait to get more glimpses of their on-screen chemistry from their post-wedding life.

Shahrukh ki Saliyan
This one’s a new offering. Written by Dr. Younis Butt and directed by Mazhar Moin, the play stars Ahsan Khan and Ramsha Khan as leads along with veterans like Javed Sheikh, Hina Khawaja Bayat, Rehan Sheikh, Firdous Jamal and many more. Talking about the play, Ahsan earlier revealed that “It’s not slapstick comedy, but a lighthearted play with funny situations. The guy [played by me] will get stuck in funny but worrisome scenarios.”
Dolly Darling
Another one penned by Younis Butt and directed by Iftikhar Iffi, is a situational comedy play which features Aijaz Aslam and Nadia Khan as the lead couple. By the looks of all the BTS pictures that we have seen on Instagram, the sitcom appears to be a joyous ride. Moreover, It would be great to see Aijaz in a happy avatar after his role in Cheekh. P.S: We also saw Aijaz changing his get-ups for the role and we are looking forward to what’s in store. The play will start from the first day of Ramazan.
Bulbulay
Yes, Nabeel, Mehmood sahab, Khoobsurat and Momo are back to give you fits of laughter in another season of Bulbulay. The shootings of the play have just started and we are eager to see what’s new is in store for the fans by this crazy dysfunctional family. The play is slated to air on the first day of Eid ul Fitr.
Barfi Laddu
Well… this one is a little tricky. We are not sure when is Barfi Laddu coming on our TV screens, but we sure hope very soon. The play has Ali Safina and Sumbul Iqbal as the lead pair and the posters claim for it feature “the most dhamakedar shadi of the year”. Ali is also a part of Suno Chanda 2, and there’s no doubt he has done some of the finest comedic characters of recent times such as Taaka in the Ayeghy Baraat series.

Honourable Mention: Help Me Durdana
This fun telefilm is to fulfill our Eid entertainment quota. Though Help Me Durdana is not a play, but we surely hope that Yasir Hussain’s wit and acting prowess, this one’s going to leave a mark. The USP of this telefilm is Yasir will be playing dual roles; one male and the other female. The actor has been sharing his photos clad in beautiful saris and dolled up in makeup, and oh boy it looks interesting. Yasir will be joined by Ushna Shah as the female lead. The comedy telefilm is being directed by Abis Raza and produced by Fahad Mustafa.
