Mahira Khan wore a customized gown by Lebanese couturier Nicolas Jebran and she looked smoking haute on the Beirut International Festival Awards red carpet. So hot that she was in Beirut for an International Icon Award and ended up picking up Best Dressed too.
However, we know Mahira is a casual dresser and loves her jeans and tees and staying in her comfort zone, which is why she tweeted, “If it were up to me, I’d go to events in a white shalwar kameez or just a tee and jeans.â€
Hamza Ali Abbasi, who’s an advocate of dressing desi and being culturally appropriate when standing up as an ambassador for the country, responded, “It’s upto u and u only!â€
We know how much Hamza loves his black shalwar kameezes, which he wears practically everywhere, even when he’s on fund raising tours in the USA.

Mahira responded to Hamza this morning…
We love the relationship between Hamza and Mahira, who will be seen in Bilal Lashari’s Maula Jutt next year; unfortunately, they have not done a scene together. Mahira is paired with Fawad Khan (another steaming haute couple) in the film. They also had some scenes in Ho Mann Jahan (Hamza was the platform wala baba, remember?) but again, it wasn’t as if they were paired together.
In fact we’re actually hoping (desperately) that someone will cast Hamza and Mahira together, because we feel they’ll have great chemistry, if their Twitter relationship is anything to go by.
Do you agree?
