With Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2, the much-awaited sequel to JPNA inching nearer to completion, the buzz around it is growing tenfold. While only yesterday (literally) it was announced that Kubra Khan will be a part of the film, now, the official cast for the film is out and it’s quite a shocker!
Reprising their roles from the original are Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Humayun Saeed, Sarwat Gilani, and Uzma Khan, whereas, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sohai Ali Abro, and Mehwish Hayat have been replaced.

While there’s usually always a good reason to shuffle the roster, the absence of Mehwish Hayat and her subsequent replacement with Kubra Khan as the lead heroine is surely raising questions the most. An even bigger surprise is that Syra Shahroz is not in the film, as she announced to a local publication that her role was not ‘substantial’ enough. Rumour has it that her role was in fact, secondary and hence, she walked out of the project.
Although not much has been revealed about the plot yet, we’re guessing the film may sway its focus away from Humayun this time and show more of Fahad Mustafa and Mawra Hocane’s storyline. After all, both the new addition of actors aren’t really the sorts who’d be keen on playing second fiddle to anyone.
Directed by Nadeem Baig, Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 is all set to release in 2018.
