Twitter was ablaze on Wednesday night following the news that an FIR has been registered against Fawad Khan owing to the fact that he allegedly declined to get his 2-year-old daughter vaccinated against polio virus and misbehaved with the vaccination staff at his residence in Lahore on February 19.
According to a statement issued by Fawad’s team, nothing could be further from the truth as Fawad wasn’t at home at the time of visit by the anti-polio team; he wasn’t in the country, in fact. The whole controversy diluted when Fawad Khan’s picture with the same date’s newspaper, taken thousands of miles away from home, in the air, made rounds on social media shortly after the maligning reports circulated.
“Fawad Khan has been out of the country since February 13 when he performed at the Pakistan Super League opening ceremony in Dubai. Currently the actor is in the United States of America. Fawad’s itinerary clearly expose the fallacious nature of the said FIR. The actor came to know about the case through the press,†the statement said.

According to the statement, “Fawad supports the anti polio campaign unreservedly and is well aware of the guidelines of the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control. The vaccination of Fawad’s daughter is up to date and the record available supports the claim.â€

As per reports, the vaccination chart was shared with the polio team through a driver’s phone. However, the ruckus fostered by inaccurate news reporting hasn’t gone down well with the actor.
“In response to the defamatory inquiry, Fawad reserves the right for appropriate legal redress including all such remedies against any damages caused by this event, should the FIR not be cancelled,†Fawad’s PR person shared.
