Maryam Nawaz is one of the few female politicians in Pakistan whose fashion aesthetics have made it to news rooms for all the right reasons. Be it her love for luxury brands or her selection of clothes, her choices have always made waves in the fashion circuit.

It is not shocking to see that the daughter of a former prime minister of Pakistan dresses up in fashion labels that cost a pretty penny, but what makes her looks more memorable is her style acumen, which is quite understated and tasteful.

Maryam Nawaz, looking ageless at 47, has been quite active of late and she is rising as a key player on the political stage of Pakistan. We don’t want to comment on her politics here but on her style sense. As a leader for the PML-N, she has recently made a number of appearances at several gatherings and events and with each appearance, she has displayed a keen sense of fashion.

Here is a lowdown…

Traditional wear

Maryam was recently seen in many traditional dresses. She wore a Balochi dress with its signature embroidery and silhouette in two different colors.

During her recent trip to Gilgit Baltistan, she donned different stylish Pakols (traditional caps) and Kalamkari shawls.

Monochromes

Maryam has a penchant for solids and she prefers wearing monochromes with light embroidery or statement dupattas like the Sindhi ajrak.

Prints

Maryam is not often seen in printed ensembles but whenever she does turn to prints, she sticks to pairing them with lowers and dupattas in solid hues.

Pakistani designers & luxury brands

Be it Ammara Khan, Sana Safinaz, Maria B., Elan and Faraz Manan, Maryam Nawaz has worn all in her signature style. She was recently seen in a Sania Maskatiya mint green outfit, paired with golden Prada mules which are worth 250 to 300 pounds right now.

Her Dior sandals and Salvatore Ferragamo slingbacks have also made it to Instagram feeds but her look at the All Parties’ Conference a few months ago became talk of the town. She was dressed in emerald green from head to toe and the statement sleeves were the highlight of her monochrome ensemble. She accessorized with a Rolex watch, dainty jewellery and Manolo Blahnik mules worth $1,445.
