Musical band Darvesh joined hands with 55 Pakistani artists to stand in unison and raise voice for their Kashmiri brethren. The song — Azaad Houn Mein — is dedicated to the disputed heaven of Kashmir which is under siege for years.
Shot on gray-scale, the video features some prominent names from the acting and music fraternity, including Adnan Siddiqui, Tina Sani, Arieb Azhar, Rachel Viccaji, Alycia Dias, Abdullah Qureshi, Shehzad Mughal, Abbas Ali Khan, Omran Shafique, Kaif Ghaznavi, Jinaan Hussain, Nadia Hussain, Aiman Khan, Aijaz Aslam, Faryal Mehmood, Gul Pir, Wajahat Rauf and many more.
We also see band members of Kashmir, Tamaasha and E-sharp singing the beautiful composition. The lyrics raise relevant questions about human rights violation in Kashmir. With strong, soulful and meaningful poetry, and additional verses from Bulleh Shah’s kalaam, Azaad Houn Mein is a must-listen.
