Chupke Chupke’s star Aymen Saleem has confirmed that she is coming ‘back’ to showbiz industry just two months after she announced that she is quitting the entertainment business. The actress spoke about it in a recent episode of Time Out with Ahsan Khan where she was invited as a guest with her Chupke Chupke co-star, Arslan Naseer.
When asked why she decided to left and then return, Aymen replied: “I’m from a corporate background. Coming into the industry, I really wasn’t fully prepared. Our [entertainment] industry is quite different from other [job] industries. I’ve done investment banking in New York, I’ve done consulting. I’m talking about those industries. Coming into showbiz is a completely different ball game altogether,” she said.
“I wasn’t really sure, whether I want to do it or not. Because it was just so much and I am very thankful for it, I was really humbled by it. So, I wanted to take a step back, revaluate what I want to do and then if I come back then I should come back to stay,” she added.
When Ahsan prodded a little more as to why she announced it if she was confused, Aymen clarified that “for me it isn’t real until you announce it”.
“I wanted a break. I wanted to reassess whether I actually wanted to do this or not. I find it a little hard to say no. I find it hard to assess whether this thing is good or that. I was reconnecting with my mentors in the industry and they really helped me during this time of doubt and uncertainty.”
“I didn’t just switch a job. I didn’t just go from one bank to another; that’s just a nine to five career switch and the most that changes are the people you work with. For me, this was a complete change. It’s not like once I step out of the set and go downstairs, I’m not Aymen Saleem anymore. I’m still Aymen Saleem. In the entertainment industry, you always need to be in character, even when you’re in the public eye. I have always been just the way I am. Glam life was not me and so I wanted to make sure I was ready for it,” she explained.
Day after the show, Aymen also took to Instagram and confirmed the news for her fans on her Stories.
“Yes guys it’s true, I’m back and here to stay Insha Allah. Your unconditional love for me has filled me with so much gratitude and happiness – Thank you for making me a part of your lives! And I couldn’t be more excited for what’s next!” she wrote.

Despite receiving so much appreciation with just her debut drama, Aymen shocked fans earlier in July when she announced her decision to quit acting.
“It is with deep gratitude that I’d like to share that I will no longer be acting,” she had shared on Instagram, thanking for the love and acceptance she has received.
