Pakistani singer Asim Azhar has been in the news lately, not only for his song Jo Tu Na Mila‘s success but also because of his rumoured relationship with actress Hania Aamir. They two have made several public appearances and posted pictures together on their respective social media account. In a recent interview, Asim dished out the details about his equation with rumoured girlfriend Hania.
In a conversation with Haroon Rashid from BBC Asian Network, the singer when asked about his relationship with Hania said,
“I don’t think I am in a position to answer that really casually or frankly. I feel like she’s the kind of person who brings a lot of positivity in my life and it’s so much fun being around her. We’re always laughing and messing around.”
He added that it is comforting to know someone who genuinely supports you for your work. When questioned if his refusal to accept or reject the rumour comes from social conditioning in Pakistan -as dating is not a norm in the country- he answered he’s does not feel any societal pressure in this situation.
“The only reason for me to not say anything right now is that I respect her [Hania]. Before making any comment, whether yes or no, I would want to take her consent rather than saying something on my own and then have the other person say, ‘I am also involved in this equation’. It’s definitely not because of any social pressure,” Asim said.
The duo was recently in Sri Lanka for a shoot, has endorsed brands together and will be seen in a telefilm. They also walked the ramp for Zainab Chottani at Fashion Pakistan Week 2019. When asked if it is a ‘convenient arrangement’, Asim said,
“I don’t see it that way. I signed for the telefilm because obviously, it is a great project but, it was also an opportunity to spend more time with a person I like hanging out with.”
