Having secured popular spots in Suno Chanda and Chupke Chupke, Ali Safina is proving to be a Ramzan favourite for TV channels. For the year 2022, Safina is all geared up for yet another Ramzan TV play, the shooting of which has already begun. It appears that popular and especially comic Ramzan plays are incomplete without him.

Speaking to Something Haute, Safina revealed some interesting details of the play.

“Some actors from the Chupke Chupke cast are getting together again for a family-friendly comedy play for Ramzan,” the actor shared without revealing names of the director, writer or cast members. However, he did mention that Mira Sethi will be featuring in the play too. Could it be a Chupke Chupke sequel or spin off?

Safina is excited to play this character because it’s different from the characters he has done earlier.

“Unlike the other characters I’ve played recently, this character, called Kamal, is a city character. He’s a colourful, jolly person and he has a great heart. He’s also the best friend of the main heroine of the play. So far what I’ve read in the script, I’m really enjoying what he’s like.”

Considering the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in Karachi, Safina shared that the cast and crew will of course have to be careful while shooting.

“This is the second time I’m shooting a Ramzan play ever since COVID-19 broke out. It’s a hindrance because even if one person gets sick, they’re gone for two weeks while they’re contagious and that halts the production entirely.”

However, Safina is optimistic that despite the rising cases, the production will be complete and ready for fans in Ramzan this year.
