The film Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer starring Yasir Hussain and Ayesha Omar was earlier scheduled to release on December 24, but it will now hit the cinemas on January 28.

The lead actor took to social media to make the announcement.

“Javed Iqbal January 28, 2022. In cinemas near you. Don’t come alone to watch it,” wrote Yasir who will be seen laying the titular character in a film based on one of Pakistan’s most heinous criminals, Javed Iqbal

“You guys will love the chemistry between a police officer and a criminal,” he wrote in another post sharing that he got the chance to learn a lot from his costar, Ayesha Omar who plays a cop in the film.

“Likewise. Can’t wait wait for people to see it!!” responded Ayesha.

The film will trace the story of the man who sexually abused and killed more than 100 children in Lahore, Pakistan between 1998 and 1999. The killer not only tortured and murdered the children but also butchered and dissolved their bodies in acid to get rid of the evidence. He was sentenced to death in the same way.

Along with Yasir who plays the criminal, the film features Ayesha Omar as a determined police officer running the investigation on the serial killer and tracking down his accomplices. The cast also includes Paras Masroor, Rabiya Kulsoom and Aamir Yamin and several others

The Untold Story of a Serial Killer: Javed Iqbal is written and directed by Abu Aleeha and is produced under the banner of KK Films by Javed Ahmed.
