‘Amanat’ appears to be high on romance and revenge

Teasers of ARY Digital’s latest drama serial Amanat have been well received by viewers as it boasts of an ensemble cast including Imran Abbas, Urwa Hocane, Saboor Aly, Haroon Shahid and Gohar Rasheed, to name a few. The highly anticipated drama was already on every drama lover’s watch-list because it introduced a new lead pair, but now the excitement has grown double as the previews have shown an interesting web of complex relationships.

Following the success of critically acclaimed and much-loved Alif, Amanat is the next big project for the power duo of Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz under the banner of Next Level Production. In an exclusive chat with Something Haute, Sana Shahnawaz gave us a hint about what to expect from the drama.

“They say that two soulmates who are destined for each other, fate can bring them together in the most unlikely circumstances. This is exactly how Zarrar (Imran Abbas) and Mehar’s (Urwa Hocane) destinies collide. Amanat is a story about discovering the real meaning of love and relationships that survives against all odds and stands the test of time,” she said.

By the looks of it, Amanat appears to be a story about Zarrar, who may have feelings for Zunairah (Saboor Aly) but unusual circumstances led him to marry Mehar. Though, Zarrar will except his fate wholeheartedly and will eventually fall in love with his wife, but Zunairah will leave no stone unturned to make things difficult for them. She will take help from Junaid (Haroon Shahid) to make matters worst. It is not clear in the teasers how Zarrar, Zunairah and Junaid are related to each other but they seem to be cousins who have complicated family ties. The teasers are filled with romance and revenge, giving us a glimpse of all the melodrama that will follow.

In an earlier conversation with Something Haute, Imran Abbas shared that “it is circumstances-based love story and a very interesting script.”

Amanat is written by Rukhsana Nigar and directed by Shahid Shafaat. Imran also revealed that the OST is composed by Naveed Nashad who has previously given amazing original soundtracks of Meray Paas Tum Ho, Suno Chanda, Do Bol, Ishq Zah-e-Naseeb and Yeh Dil Mera. Interestingly, one can hear a version of Do Bol’s OST in some the teasers but with different lyrics. However, we certainly hope we get to hear a new song this time.

Other cast members include Saba Hamid, Shehryar Zaidi, Babar Ali, Srha Asghar, Salman Saeed, Zainab Qayyum and Saima Siddiqui.
